Once again the Gomo team were blown away by this year’s Learning Technologies exhibition, which took place on January 31st and February 1st in London. The event is Europe’s leading showcase of organizational learning and the technology used to support this, and sees more than 8,000 visitors each year looking for the latest eLearning trends.
With hourly demonstrations of the Gomo learning suite from myself and Business Development Manager, Thom Tate (who’d just flown in from our US office), the stand was constantly busy with people looking to find out how Gomo’s unique HTML5 capabilities could transform their eLearning creation and delivery.
As the Learning Technologies Group of companies continues to grow, we had a great presence at Learning Technologies 2018 and there was a lot of interest in what we are doing as a Group and the collaboration between the companies. We shared a stand with LEO Learning, while our colleagues from NetDimensions and Watershed were both nearby.
Launching Gomo’s newest feature: drag and drop
We also gave a public debut to our new ‘drag and drop’ Gomo asset, which went down exceptionally well with new visitors and existing customers alike. This unique asset allows our users to create even more interactive HTML5 eLearning with Gomo.
eLearning trends in focus
Learning Technologies is also a great excuse for us to catch up with our customers. Several members of our major user group, including Santander, O2, EE, Jaguar Land Rover and many more all dropped in to say hello and find out about the new features we’re constantly adding to our award-winning product.
It was fantastic to be able to speak at the event as part of the program of seminars, and my presentation, ‘How global organizations create and deliver eLearning at scale’, sparked some great conversations that I’m looking forward to continuing.
Here are three of the eLearning trends and hot topics that we were discussing during the two days:
SCORM is out
It’s no longer enough to know if and when someone has completed a course. These days, L&D professionals ‘in the trenches’ of building learning strategies require in-depth learner analytics to build effective learning strategies. To stay relevant, it is crucial to fully understand the path of every learner. An authoring tool like Gomo is mission critical. All of Gomo’s courses are xAPI-enabled with all of the statements built-in, creating a hassle-free platform for users – with or without xAPI experience – to build beautiful, interactive courses that track how learners engage with the course.
Mobile learning
With learners increasingly on-the-go and disconnected from a traditional office, the ability for people to access learning via mobile devices is a must. With Gomo, you only need to build one course, which can then easily be delivered to multiple devices. The Gomo player detects screen size and type, and automatically adjusts to display the content in a way that makes it appear tailor-made to whichever device is being utilized.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Gomo stand! Until next time…
